Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Smart Layer LLC (“we”, “us”) collects when you use SmartLayer, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

Account information

Your name, email address and password (stored only as a secure hash), and the plan you choose.

Your data

The files you upload, the questions you ask in the chat, and the dashboards and reports generated from them.

Billing information

Payments are handled by Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe, a PCI DSS Level 1 certified provider; we never see or store your full card number. We receive limited billing details from Stripe, such as your subscription status, the last four digits of your card and your billing country.

Technical information

Basic logs needed to run and secure the service, such as IP address, browser type and the time of requests, and AI usage counts used to apply your plan’s limits.

How we use information

• To provide the service: answer your questions, build dashboards and run analyses on your data.
• To manage your account, subscription, billing and usage limits.
• To provide support and send service messages such as receipts and security notices.
• To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your uploaded files to train AI models.

Service providers

We share information only with providers that help us run SmartLayer:

• Supabase: account sign-in, database and file storage.
• Groq: runs the AI models. Your question and the parts of your data needed to answer it are sent to Groq to generate a response.
• Stripe: payment processing and subscription billing.
• Our hosting provider: serves the website and application.

These providers process information on our behalf and under their own security and privacy commitments. We may also disclose information if required by law.

Cookies and local storage

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in, and your browser’s local storage to remember preferences such as light or dark theme. We do not use advertising cookies.

Data security

All traffic is encrypted with HTTPS. Uploaded datasets are private to your account and protected by access rules that stop other users from reading them. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your account information and files for as long as your account is open. You can ask us to delete your account and data at any time by emailing [email protected]. We keep billing records for as long as tax and accounting rules require.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, or to object to certain processing. To make a request, email [email protected].

Children

SmartLayer is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will update the date above and notify subscribers by email before the changes take effect.
